Diamond View School is a middle school serving a population of approximately 413 students in grades six through eight. As one of the five schools is the Susanville School district and its only middle school, the goal of Diamond View School is to provide a quality education in a safe, secure, and accepting environment in which students develop the academic, social, and emotional skills necessary to succeed here and in high school. Students will develop skills for independent learning and continue to grow in their ability to exhibit the responsible behaviors necessary to become constructive, productive, and ethical members of the school community and society. The school is organized around a seven period academic day. We provide many excellent enrichment activities through the Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) program, instrumental band, drama, as well as other academic activities that include the yearbook, student government and leadership activities, geography bee, spelling bee, and Academic Olympics. McKinley School is an elementary school serving approximately 500 students in grades kindergarten through third grade. This school has exceeded California Standards test requirements for the last four years and has qualified to apply for the California Distinguished School Award. Only two schools in our county met this qualification standard last year. McKinley School has a wonderfully caring and hard-working staff comprised of both certified and classified employees who all understand the need to treat each student as an individual so that their educational needs can be addressed in the most effective manner. Meadow View School is an elementary school serving approximately 255 students in grades fourth and fifth in the Susanville School District. Meadow View School has initiated and maintained a rigorous academic program based on state-adopted curricular standards, which emphasize the academic as well as the social needs of each child.
